Spanning a range of industries from energy to agriculture, SEM embrace and pioneer disruptive new technologies that process co-products from waste streams, create operational efficiencies, and deliver innovative water treatment solutions.
SEM felt their existing brand didn’t clearly communicate and position the company in a way which fitted with their goals for the business.
The brand refresh involved considering all aspects of their business and finding ways to help both SEM and their customers reduce their environmental impact. We began by realigning their messaging across the brand, taking SEM’s previous brand colours of grey, gold and white and replacing them with various shades of green and white.
We also adjusted the tagline to ‘Environmental with shades of green’ as an incremental shift avoiding drastic change.
We worked rigorously with the team to reimagine their visual identity, addressing colour palette, iconography, typography, and creating style guides for use by their marketing team for both internal and external comms.
Collaborating with Bold St Media, we updated SEM’s website to reflect the changes to their business, focussing on clear messaging. It was also a priority to showcase SEM’s innovative technology and how that technology had gone on to benefit their clients, and in-turn the environment, through detailed case studies.
Quality imagery was crucial for showcasing SEM’s scope of work. We worked with Grant Anderson to build a full picture of the business, from capturing state-of-the-art distilleries to local farmers, this breadth of imagery helped us portray the company’s diverse offering.
